She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Douglas Avakian; her parents, Ralph Smith and Ruby Taylor Smith; her son-in-law Michael Sherbert; her siblings, Pat Dillard (Paul), Judy Snyder (Jimmy) and Carroll Taylor; and her brother-in-law Alvin Greene.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Shamp (Dana) and Kimberly Sherbert; her grandchildren, Victoria Perry (Steven), Kayla Alquran (Maan), Alexander Shamp and Heather Abbott (Justin); her great grandchildren, John Alquran, Layla Alquran and William Perry; and her siblings, Johnny Smith (Belinda), Rollie Smith (Jeanette) and Kay Greene.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Philadelphia Baptist Church (3119 SC-56, Pauline, SC 29374).
