He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Earle Goodwin, Sr. and Ethel Ailene Hudson Goodwin; his wife Marjorie Eva Reid Goodwin; his siblings, Roy Earle Goodwin, Jr. and Margaret Goodwin Seay; and his nephew Robert Wayne "Bobby" Seay.
He is survived by: his children, John Pierce Goodwin, Jr. (Jayne Batchelor) and Kathy Lea Goodwin Allen (Dale); his grandchildren, Catherine Goodwin Bakema (Sean), Reid Pierce Goodwin and Lea Elizabeth Allen Harrison (Hal); his great grandchildren, Jameson Pierce Goodwin and Everly Cole Goodwin; his nephew Howard Earle "Buddy" Seay (Benni); and his great-niece Margaret Rose Seay Moore (Randy).
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens- Spartanburg (1300 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charles Lea Center Foundation (195 Burdette Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307) and Spartanburg Shares (137 South Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302).
