He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Solomen Mitchell and Martha Sadelle Mitchell (Kennedy); and his siblings, Sandra Flores, Wayne Mitchell and Richard Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jane Barnes; his daughter Wendy Mitchell Davey; his grandchildren, Mitchell, Miranda Davey and Aubrey Collado; and his siblings, Cheryl Henderson (Wills), Debra Vaughan, Marie Burns (Spartanburg) and James Earl Mitchell. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Paul United Methodist Church (1320 Fernwood Glendale Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29307). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
