He was predeceased by: his parents, Maudie Inez Dunagan Fowler and David Russell Fowler; and his sister Martha Waldrop. He is survived by: his wife Gail Scruggs Fowler; and his niece Teri R Walker (Rick). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Spartanburg Fire Department, 8767 Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, S.C. 29316.
