He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Luther and Gertrude Smith Schrimsher; and his siblings, Maxine Schrimsher, Ruby McLaughlin, Eva Nichols, Jeanette Waddell, Florence Fleming, Joe Schrimsher and Benny Schrimsher.
He is survived by: his daughter Kimberley Renee Varner; his grandchildren, Eric Cook, Michelle Resendiz, Ricky Resendiz and Steven Cook; his great grandchildren, Hayden, Nicholas, Lucas, Hunter, Emmett, Gabriella, Chloe, Bryson, Jaidah, Alec, Jonathan, Robbie, Mason and Finleigh; and his brother Wayne "Gene" Schrimsher.
