He was predeceased by : his parents, Bertha Cordelia Mott Stephens and Dewey Stephens; and his grandparents, Lula Belle Brown Mott, Edgar Mott, Lelia Stephens and Clarence Lanham Stephens.

He is survived by : his wife Sandra Elizabeth White Stephens; his daughter Barbara Elaine Stephens (Brian); his granddaughters, Jasmine and Cordelia (Mike); his son Edward Dewey Stephens; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Haley and Marjorie Jane; his son Robert Todd Stephens (Julie); his grandchildren, Benjamin (Kristin), Harry and Olivia; his son Adam Mott Stephens (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Lindsay, Hayden and Emma; his sister June Elaine Stephens; and his cousin Don Stephens.
