She was predeceased by: her husband Donald M. Nettles; her parents, John Frederick Spell and Hazel Wilson Spell; her son Donald Michael Nettles; her siblings, Robert Spell, Sr., Barbara Babb and Sarah Spell; and her sister-in-law Eliette Spell.
She is survived by: her children, Deanna Wilson Brewton (Bob), Jackie Nettles Horseman, Deborah Elizabeth "Betty" Nettles and Susan Davis Zeigler (David); her sisters, Vernell Fulton and Becky Ward; her grandchildren, Swinton W. Hudson, III (Ivelisse), Stephen Donald Hudson (Melanie), Jessica Paige Zeigler Potts (Daniel) and Megan Elizabeth Zeigler Hughes (Dalton); and her great grandchildren, Carmen, James, William, Parker, Preston, Peyton and Avery.
