She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifton Smith and Laurette Padgett Smith; her former husband Norris Cooke; her husband Burnette Whetstone, Sr.; her daughter Donna Crosby; her granddaughter Ciaya Whetstone; her siblings, Pete Smith and Frankie Trull; and her brothers-in-law, George Butler and Marvin Trull.
She is survived by: her children, James Harrison Cooke (Tonia) of Illinois, Burnette Whetstone, Jr. (Ashley) of Bamberg and Cherie McDonald (Chuck) of Columbia; her sister Lillian Butler of Columbia; and her grandchildren, Alex, Caleb, Tanner, Joshua, Frankie, Daniel, Wesley and Tarah. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
