She was predeceased by: her spouse Claude Franklin Merck; her parents, Lemuel Kay and Eva Ruth Wilson Kay; and her brothers, Nathan, John Samuel and Joseph Andrew Kay.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Allred (Jim) of Cary, NC and Lamar Merck (Antonia) of Six Mile; her siblings, Elizabeth Satterfield and David Kay; and her grandchildren, Ty Merck, Holly Hollingsworth, Adam Merck of Lyric Merck, T. J, Allred Johnson and Jammie Allred Napper. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.
