He was predeceased by: his parents, James M. O'Dell and Eula Corn O'Dell; and his sister Anne O'Dell. He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Ramos; his grandsons, Nick Ramos and Camilo Ramos; and his siblings, Reggy O'Dell and Mary Weisner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
As a tribute to Ray's battle with lung cancer, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
