He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Ivy Ballew Abbott; his parents, Adger Abbott and Beulah Abbott of Simpsonville, SC.; his sister Edith Hewitt of Simpsonville, SC; his children, Tommy Abbott (Rhonda) of Simpsonville, SC, Kent Abbott (Michelle) of Simpsonville, SC, Cleva Garner (Porter) of Greenwood, SC and Judy Howard of Simpsonville, SC; his son-in-law Machen Clark of Taylors, SC; and his daughter Susan Clark. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
