It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Keith Russell of Simpsonville, South Carolina, born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on January 12, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Hopper and Katie Louise McCombs Russell; and his brother-in-law Nathan Batson. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Garrett Russell; his children, Jennifer White (Bryan) of Woodruff, Kyle Russell (Elizabeth) of Greenville and Robert Russell of Simpsonville; his grandchildren, Luke White, William Russell and Mary Elizabeth Russell; his siblings, Ronald Russell (Linda) of Pickens and Robbie Batson; his sisters-in-law, Lynda Mabry (Eddie) of Simpsonville and Carolyn Traynham (Billy) of Simpsonville; and his nieces and nephews, Debbie Whaley (Claude), Cynthia Sosebee, Suzanne Brown (Heath), Lisa Nesbit (Chad), John Russell, Karen Davenport (Chad), Chris Mabry (Diana), Scott Mabry (Kim), Holly Hill (Brian) and Blake Traynham (Anna).
Due to COVID-19, a private service will be held for the family in Woodlawn Memorial Park with a Memorial Service to be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to: Holly Ridge Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 260 Adams Mill Road, Simpsonville, SC 29681 or to the Piedmont Women's Center, 1143 Grove Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
