He is survived by: his wife Judith Stewart Sams; his sons, Eric Stuart Sams of Simpsonville, SC and Joel Brian Sams (Angie) of Clemmons, NC; his granddaughters, Julie and Katelyn Sams; his brother Larry Sams (Janet) of Hayesville, NC; his grandsons, Josh Sams and Bryce Sams; and his nephews, Dan Sams, Chad Sams, Jeff Stewart and Jerrad Stewart.
