He was predeceased by: his brothers, David Burton Ayers and James Edward Ayers, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Ayers; his son Jeffrey Todd Ayers (Valerie) of Clemson; and his sister Margaret Ayers Thompson (Jimmy) of Lexington.

The family requests that memorials be made to: Temple Baptist Church building fund or Caris Hospice, 111 Smith Hines Rd., Greenville SC, 29607.
