With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Matthew Fulton Smith of Simpsonville, South Carolina, who passed away on September 22, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his friends, Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, Archbishop and Evangelist; and his sister Miriam Smith. He is survived by: his parents, Paul Smith and Kathleen Smith; his sisters, Natalie, Genevieve, Felicity, Anastasia, Cecilia, Mary Agnes and Josephine Smith; his grandparents, Arthur, Mary Smith, James J. and Julie Rixner; his uncles, James B. Rixner, Kevin Smith (Olivia) and Peter Smith (Tran Thi Thu); and his cousins, Briar Wilcox, Winslow Smith and Charles Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Clare's Home, a maternity home for expectant mothers who choose life and are in need of shelter, safety and security at stclareshomesc.org.
