He is survived by: his wife Helen Rice Shumate; his siblings, Mary Faulk of Simpsonville and Paul Shumate (Mary) of Detroit Michigan; and his sisters-in-law, Lorene Stenhouse of Fountain Inn, Bernice Rice of Brooklyn and Judy Rice. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
