He was predeceased by: his parents, John Verlyn Thomas and Adele Lee Schenk Thomas; his former wife Teney Carter Thomas; his sister Peggy Thomas Joyce (Jack); and his son Larry Craig Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Thomas McMasters (Jamie) of Reidsville, NC, Lisa Thomas Smith (Dennis) of Greer, SC and Chuck Thomas (Nancy) of Greer, SC.; his grandchildren, Jason McMasters (April), Melissa McMasters Simoniz (Mark), Nick Smith (Sallie), Lauren Smith Davis (Ben) and Caroline Thomas; his great grandchildren, Bo, Hunt, Colt, Kimber McMasters, Fisher, Foster, Fielder Simoniz, Lucy, Mac Smith, Will, Lainey Davis, Carter and Walker Durham; his sister Pat Hatley (Bob) of Greensboro, NC; and his sister-in-law Jo Hicks Johnson (Herman). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
