He was predeceased by: his parents, Furman Leroy and Lois Fletcher Cobb; his son Roger Owen; and his siblings, James Cobb, Ophelia Lantgios and Mary Ann Shirley.
He is survived by: his children, John R. Cobb, Jr. of Simpsonville, Michael Cobb of Ninety-Six, Shirley Bell of Bishopville, Myra Davis of Greenville and Charlotte Babson (David) of Ash, NC; his half-sisters, Gloria Smith of Saluda, SC and Betty Johns of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Zack Babson, Erica B. Segura, John Davis, Spencer Davis, Joe Bell, Graham Cobb, Grace Tinsley, Coursey Lindsey, Ellen Cobb, Roland Cobb and Christine Cobb; and his great grandchildren, Ellie Segura, Grayson Segura, Franklin Tinsley and Duncan Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, McCall Hospice House.
