Jan Ockeloen Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan Ockeloen (Simpsonville, South Carolina), who passed away on October 20, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gijsbertus Franciscus and Margriet Ockeloen; and his siblings, Bert Ockeloen and Hannie DeWilde. He is survived by: his wife Petrie Ockeloen; his daughters, Nicky VanValkenburgh (Jim) of Simpsonville, SC and Hanneke Counts (Steve) of Lexington, SC; his grandsons, John, Andrew Counts, Sean and Perry VanValkenburgh; his sons-in-law, Jim VanValkenburgh and Rev. Steven B. Counts; his granddaughter-in-law Miriam Lopez VanValkenburgh (Sean); and his sisters, Manda Swart and Sonya Si Dhian Ho. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends.

Jan Ockeloen died peacefully in his sleep, at home, after suffering from Parkinson's Disease for several years.
