He was predeceased by: his parents, James Newton Ashe, Sr. and Frances Elizabeth Finley Ashe. He is survived by: his wife Kay Hughes Ashe; his children, David James Ashe of Athens, TN and Kathryn Ashe White (Luke) of Greenwood, SC; and his grandson David Luke White.
