He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Fredrick David and Edith Catherine Durham Thomason; his wife Frances Bowens Thomason; his children, Tameka LaToya Thomason of Simpsonville, SC, Homanda Miguel Thomason (Lisa) of Simpsonville, SC, James David Thomason, Jr. (Marisol) of Carollton, VA and Fredrick Thomason (Violeta) of Cibolo, TX; his stepsons, LaShane Cox of Easley, SC and Nathan Cox (Lauren) of Taylors, SC; his siblings, Jannette Thomas of Greenville, SC, Clarissa Robinson (A. B.) of Simpsonville, SC, L. C. Thomason (Cynthia) of Mauldin, SC and Aaron Thomason of Piedmont, SC; and his father-in-law William E. Bowens. He was also cherished by fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
