He was predeceased by: his parents, John Grady and Sallie Mae Pruitt Evans; his daughter Cheryl Ann Evans; and his siblings, Allene Prater, Hazel Holbrook, Carolyn Hembree, Johnny Evans, Floyd Evans, Tommy Evans and Hoyt Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Jacobs Evans of Simpsonville, SC; his daughter Sharon Allison Conway; his son-in-law Michael Conway of Madison, SC; his sons, Paul (Melissa Evans) and Frank (Christina Evans); and his siblings, Martha Ann Stewart, Peggy Evans and Alfred Evans (Jimmie Evans). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Whitfield Funeral Home and Crematory- South Chapel (1370 Industrial Blvd, Baldwin, GA 30511). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at the Yonah Memorial Gardens (255 Central Ave, Demorest, GA 30535).
