He was predeceased by: his former wife Faye Helen Chandler Hammond; and his sisters, Cozette Sherfield, Sarah Cooley and Mildred Faber. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Kirby Hammond; his children, Barry (Beau), Wayne Hammond and Sherie Hammond Smith (Scott); his granddaughters, Amanda Faye Landers, Jo-Ana Helen Hammond and Chelsea McDaniel (Alan); his great grandchildren, Jayden Landers and Jackson Henry Atkinson; his brother James Hammond (Irene); his stepchildren, Betty Jo Burns and Danny Thompkins; and his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Martin and Joey Thompkins.
