She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Milo Swanson; her parents, Jesse Carroll Traynham and Cynda Bruce Thackston Traynham; and her sisters, Marcelle Cobb and Betty McConnell.

She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl Swanson Smith (David); her grandchildren, Christina Jennifer Miller, Michael David Smith and Mark Daniel Smith; and her brothers, Carroll Traynham and Jack Traynham.
