He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvid Eric Young, Sr. and Evelyn Pearson Young; his brother David Young; and his sister-in-law Peggy Young. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Mae "Gerry" Jindracek Young; his sons, Andrew Young (Sue) and Chris Young (Linda); his grandchildren, Nicky Young, Brandon Young and Katie Young; and his sister-in-law Antoinette Pryor (Patrick).
