She was predeceased by: her husband Wilton "Duke" Henry Valentien; her parents, August Peterson and Ruth Turnquest Peterson; and her brothers, Pete and Paul Peterson.
She is survived by: her children, Ruth Thornton (Joe) of New Jersey, Diane Forté (Ed) of Mt. Pleasant, Liz Amato (John) of New Jersey, Bruce Valentien (Monica) of Duncan, Virginia Valentien of New Jersey, Dawn Sacco (Sam) of Arizona and Kim Valentien of New Jersey. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
