He was predeceased by: his parents, David Loyd Shaffer and Marian Mae Hughes Shaffer; his parents-in-law, Paul and Sara Bingenheimer; his brother-in-law Dorman Hurt; and his nephew Bradley Hurt.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Bingenheimer Shaffer; his children, Michael Shaffer (Brenda), Travis Shaffer (Arlene) and Michelle Shaffer; his sister Julia Ann Hurt; his grandchildren, Apollo Shaffer, Alexander Shaffer, Andrew Shaffer, Patrick Haley, Logan Shaffer and Austin Shaffer; and his great grandchildren, Alivia Shaffer, William, Missy Bingenheimer, Mark and Brooke Bingengeimer. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
