He was predeceased by: his wife Rebecca "Becky" Knapp; and his son Gregory Knapp. He is survived by: his children, David W. Knapp, Jr. of Greenville, SC, James Knapp of Warrenville, IL, Steven Knapp of Hughesville, MD, Michael Christopher Hemphill of Gray Court, SC. and Sheri Knapp of Melbourne, FL.; his grandchildren, Ashley Knapp, Kyle Knapp, Julia Knapp-Markarian, Jimmy Knapp, Duncan Hemphill and Callyn Knapp; and his great grandchild Braydon Coons.
