He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezell Wharton and Georgia Jones Wharton. He is survived by: his daughter Annette Bailey of Fountain Inn; and his siblings, Ezell Wharton (Hurley) of Simpsonville, Reverend Paul Wharton of Greenwood, Kathy Phelps (Bobby) of Simpsonville, Gloria Wharton of Greenville and Georgia Fowler (Michael) of Fountain Inn. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
