He is survived by: his wife Gloria Gallego Betancur; his children, Jose Aldemar Betancur, Nelson Betancur, Luz Dary Betancur, Miryan Ruiz, Gloria Ines Betancur, Blanca Lucia Betancur, Marta Patricia Betancur, Marilu Frei, Yenny Carolina Betancur and Paola Perez; his grandchildren, Luisa Ramos, Erick Agrinsonis, Jessica Betancur, Stephanie Ruiz, Erika Bolden, Sebastian Betancur, Vanessa Brillant, Bryan Ruiz, Valerie Nicole Frei, Matthew Betancur, Nicolas Betancur and Christopher Betancur; and his great grandchildren, Jaylen Bolden and Samantha Brillant. He is also survived by seventeen brothers and sisters.
