He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin Sammons and Ottie Mae Cobb Sammons; and his siblings, Jack Sammons, Mary Glenn, Imajean Rice, Sue Waters, Lou Nell Glenn and Catherine Sammons.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Jean Brucke Sammons of Seneca, SC; his children, Johnny Ray Sammons of Central and Sherri Sammons of Seneca; his siblings, Jimmy Sammons (Patty) of Anderson and Ann Hall (Ray) of Cross, SC; and his grandchildren, Joshua Ray Sammons and Hunter Griffin Kelly. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Davenport Funeral Home (311 SC-11, West Union, SC 29696). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at the New Hope Baptist Church (4010 Keowee School Rd, Seneca, SC 29672).
