He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Federlin Becker Taylor; his parents, John Stephen Taylor, I and Sylvia Shubert; and his sister Dorothy Durham (Frank). He is survived by: his children, Elaine Taylor of Easley, SC, Tammy Taylor (Susan) of Baltimore, MD and John Taylor, III of Seneca, SC; his sister Betty Spencer of Seneca; his nieces, Mandy Graham (Jamey) and Deb Moneypenny (Mike); and his pets, Eliot, Sophie and Ella.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Sandifer Funeral Home (512 E Main St, Westminster, SC 29693). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at the Oconee Memorial Park (1923 Blue Ridge Blvd, Seneca, SC 29672).
