He was predeceased by: his father Robert Leroy Jones. He is survived by: his wife Amanda Kaye Terry Jones; his mother Cynthia Andriac Jones; his children, James Shirley (Erica), Samuel Robert Jones, Thomas William Shirley (Kara), Simon Peter Jones and Cynthia Grace Jones Gardener (Jack); his siblings, Peter A. Jones, Steven M. Jones and Lisa Joslin; and his grandchildren, Noah, Olivia and Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Shiloh Baptist Church: 1324 Shiloh Rd., Seneca, SC 29678.
