He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornies Gillison and Annie Mae Gillison; his wife Mary Bell C. Gillison; and his children, Connie Smalls, Edward, Billy, Larry Gillison and Darryl Gillison.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret Jenkins of Seabrook, SC, Annie Daise (Bernard) of St, Nathan Gillison, Jr. (Angie) of Walterboro, SC, Bernard Richardson and Dorian Allen of Grays Hill, SC; his son-in-law Jerome Smalls; his sister-in-law Mosezell Chisolm (Kathy Zackery); his friend Rebecca Middleton; and also Angie Gillison. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Koger's Mortuary Service (508 S Jefferies Blvd, Walterboro, SC 29488). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Cme Church (7897 Ritter Rd, Walterboro, SC 29488). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
