He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Truett and Avery Gainey Truett; his son Thomas "Jack" Truett, Jr.; and his siblings, Ruby Lee Teal, Dan Lee Truett, Ralph Truett and Jamie Truett.
He is survived by: his wife Martha N. Truett of Scranton; his children, Timmy James Truett of Scranton, Lisa Truett McKnight of Scranton, Steve Lynn Truett of Scranton, Sharon Denise Truett of Florence and Phyllis Elaine Truett of Camp Branch; his brother Larry Truett (Becky) of North Carolina; and his sister-in-law Margie Ann Norwood of Scranton. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
