She was predeceased by: her husband Kenneth Dewy Anderson; her parents, Robert Muldrow and Lila Mae Turner Matthews; her son Barney Joe Wheeler; her brother Robert Mitchell Matthews; and her sisters-in-law, Shirley Matthews and Frances Matthews.
She is survived by: her daughter Melissa "Lisa" Wheeler Thomas; her grandchildren, Tessa Ann Thomas Shelburne (Thomas) of Greenville, SC and Blair Wheeler (Alexandra) of Wilmington, NC; her daughter-in-law Terri Eaddy Wheeler of Myrtle Beach, SC; her sister Barbara Matthews Gowdy (Wilford) of Cades, SC; and her great grandchildren, Barrett Wheeler of Wilmington, NC and Wesley Wheeler of Wilmington, NC. She is also survived by 2 nephews; a niece.
