She was predeceased by: her husband Reverend Daniel Rush "D. R." Cook; her parents, Leo J. Poston and Ozella Stone Poston; her former husband Edward W. Miles; her children, Mitchell Edward Miles and Sharon Elaine Miles; her grandson Justin Wayne Hicks; her great grandchild Macie Catina Miller; and her siblings, Major Poston, John Poston, Paul Poston, Kathleen Hicks, Hazel Lynch, Rachel Jones, Winnie Cox, Joyce Mangum and Ila Mae Poston.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Miles Osborne of Coward and Wendy D. Cook of Lake City; and her daughter-in-law Teri Hampton. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Carolina Funeral Home (215 E Hwy 378 Byp, Lake City, SC 29591). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Carolina Funeral Home Chapel (215 E Hwy 378 Byp, Lake City, SC 29591).
