With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Linwood Poston (Scranton, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 14, 2024 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leo Poston and Evelyn Ard Poston; his siblings, Douglas Poston, William "Buddy" Poston, Andrew "Demp" Poston and Carolyn Cox; and his son-in-law Ricky Yarborough.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Tucker Poston; his children, Doralynn Streett (Glynn) and Larry L. "Woody" Poston (Jenny); his grandchildren, Jamie Pasker (Daniel), Ashley Yarborough and John Poston; his stepgrandchildren, Chelsea Richardson (Zach), Dylan Streett and Richard Streett (Taylor); his siblings-in-law, Engrim Tucker, Janis Tucker and Jean Poston; his great-niece Amanda Poston; and his close friends, Robbie Perry, Roger Bazen and Sammy Singletary. He is also survived by 5 step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carolina Funeral Home (215 E Hwy 378 Byp, Lake City, SC 29591). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lake City United Methodist Church (229 W Main St, Lake City, SC 29560). A burial was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at the Lake City Memorial Park.
