He was predeceased by: his wife Sybil Griffith Cooper; his parents, James Cooper and Ovia Creel Cooper; his son-in-law Ellis Evans; his sister Levelle Fennell; and his brothers-in-law, Lew Ard and Robert Fennell.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Evans of Lake City and Tony Cooper of Seneca; his grandchildren, Holly Haselden, Joseph Cooper (Courtney), Jessica Smith (Mychael), Heather Broach (Patrick), Kayla Wilson (James), Troy Cooper, Aiden Cooper, David Evans, Brian Evans and William Evans (Angel); and his sister Bobbie Ard. He is also survived by 20 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews.
