He was predeceased by: his parents, Rembert Hoyt Godwin and Mary Alice "Peggy" Powell Godwin; and his siblings, Billy Paul Godwin, James "Buddy" Godwin (Virginia), Edith "Sis" Clark (A. L.) and Cassidy.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Godwin; his children, Bert S. Godwin (Holly) and Joy VanDaele (Michael); his grandchildren, Grace Godwin, Ellie Godwin, Luke Godwin, Emma VanDaele and Sarah VanDaele; and his sister-in-law Mary Godwin.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Scranton Baptist Church (1801 S Church St, Scranton, SC 29591). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
