It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie (Kelly) Cook (Scranton, South Carolina), born in Lake City, South Carolina, who passed away on February 23, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Reverend Theodore; her siblings, Arcola Dennis, Elizabeth Gregory, Julia Mae Wise Weber, William Kelly and Joseph Kelley; and her grandson Will Frederick.
She is survived by: her husband Terry Woodrow Cook of Lake City; her children, Donna Matthews Martin (Marty) of Newport News, VA, Renee Matthews Frederick (Bill) of Williston and William Eddie Matthews (Cyndi) of Scranton; her brother Eddie Kelly of Columbia; her grandchildren, Myles McIntyre, Jaime Bush, Cory Bush, Lauren F. Byars (Jason), Blake Matthews (Grace), Rev. Jesse Matthews, Patrick Matthews and Nick Matthews; her great grandchildren, Jackson E. Byars, Eli Byars and Austin Byars; her friend Lila Mae McCutcheon; her daughter Teresa "Bug" Windham; her granddaughter Teri Osborne; and also Bess Yates. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Burial will be private. Due to COVID-19, the family request for everyone to wear a mask and please maintain the 6 foot social distancing.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, St Jude Hospital, or the charity of one's choice.
