He was predeceased by: his parents, Quinnie Lester Shealy and Emmie Berry Shealy of Newberry, S. C; his wife Jeanette Matthews Shealy; his daughter Candler Shealy Smith (Candi); and his sister-in-law Verda Matthews Potts.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Candler Smith McShea (Matt) of Greenville, S. C. and Davis Shealy Smith of Murrells Inlet, S. C.; his son-in-law Franklin D. Smith of Murrells Inlet, S. C.; his siblings, Delores Shealy Miller of Lake Wylie, S. C. and Frank; his siblings-in-law, Amelia Herlong of Saluda and Paul Potts of Saluda; his brother Candler Grady; his sister-in-law Renee Matthews of Florence, S. C.; and his friend Doc. He is also survived by relatives and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 101 N. Calhoun St., Saluda, S.C. 29138.
