He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Matthew Gentry, Sr. and Hammie Rodgers Gentry; his son Larry E. Gentry; his siblings, Gillion, Carl Gentry, Curtis Gentry and Grace Harmon; and also Trannye Lou Trotter Gentry.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann "Jody" Gentry of Saluda; his son Wesley Matthew Gentry, III (Anita Rice) of Lexington; his stepdaughters, Holly Mitchell (Charles Mann) of Irmo and Merri Grayson Mitchell of Irmo; his daughter-in-law Barbara C. Gentry of Saluda; his sister Beatrice Ross of Leesville; his grandchildren, Stephanie Gentry of Saluda, Matthew "Matt" Gentry (Jennifer) of Saluda, Ryan Gentry (Melissa) of Columbia and Russell Gentry (Stephanie) of Atlanta; his stepgrandchildren, Walker Lang of Irmo, Kyligh Lang of Irmo and Gabriel Mann of Irmo; and his great grandchildren, Cade Gentry of Saluda, Abby Gentry of Saluda, Ella Gentry of Saluda, Grant Gentry of Saluda, Logan Gentry of Columbia and Taylor Gentry of Columbia.
