It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Wayne Sawyer Jr. in Saluda, South Carolina, who passed away on November 30, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Wayne Sawyer, Sr. and Ruby Nichols Sawyer; his wife Evelyn Inez Davis Sawyer; and his siblings, Evelyn Gasser, Sara Jackson, Elaine Scott and Henry Claude Sawyer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth Sawyer O'Malley (Richard) of Elgin, SC and Amy Sawyer Ely (Dennis) of Ridgeway, SC; his siblings, Tom Sawyer (Debbie) of Monetta, SC and Ruth Jordan of Walhalla, SC; and his grandchildren, Andrea, Hannah O'Malley, Jacob, Caleb, Abby and Luke Ely.
