He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Whitfield (Joe) and Mary Ola McKnight; and his brother Thomas Whitfield. He is survived by: his wife Diana R. Whitfield; his daughters, Tarzmonisha Raines (Terrence) of Ellenwood, GA and Shameka Williams (Rafael) of Sumter, SC; his siblings, Joe Louis Whitfield (Lula Mae) of Salters, SC, Leler Whitfield of Maryland, Debra Covert (David) of Salters, SC and Geraldine Singleton of Sumter, SC; and his siblings-in-law, Leronnia Rush of Andrews, SC, Abraham McClary Jr. (Earline) of Florence, SC and Genevieve McCrea of Kingstree, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
