She was predeceased by: her spouse J. C. Chavis; her mother Katie Green Gantt; and her siblings, Kathaleen Howell and Sacola Stockman. She is survived by: her children, Nancy Williams (Homer), Marvin Chavis (Pamela) and Patty Chavis (Marion "Pete"); her grandchildren, Dana Cooper, Tammy Cooper (Laurel White), Buffy Stoker (Chris Byars), Jonathan "John" Chavis (Liz), Katie Love (Quincy) and Savannah Williams; her great grandchildren, Brandon Cooper, Cody Stoker, Caleb Stoker, Cade Byars, Rennie Chavis, Bailey Goolsby, Maci Love and Sara Beth Love; her great great grandchildren, Eli Cooper, Wyatt Stoker and Aubrey Stoker; and her siblings, James Richard "Dick" Gantt (Bertha) and Melba Morgan (late Guy).
