She was predeceased by: her husband Alfred Govan "Jack" Gunter, Sr.; her child Markie Joe Gunter (Mary); her parents, Braxton Elvin "Pent" Hoover and Maggie Viola Corbett Hoover; and her brothers, Neal, Richard Hoover (Lucy), Herbert Hoover (late Connie Vernelle) and Wilbur Hoover (late Virginia).
She is survived by: her son Alfred G. Gunter, Jr. (Cathy); her grandchildren, Gregory Gunter (Lori), Jessica Joy (Justin), Joseph "Joe" Gunter (Allison Shumpert) and Kristina Goins (Destin); her great grandchildren, Riley Gunter, Bryce Gunter, Tanner Gunter, Aubrey Joy, Paxton Joy, Noah Gunter, Conner Gunter, Grayson Goins and Graham Goins; and her sisters, Lillie Mae Hallman (late Cecil), Betty Jean Love (late Wilbur) and Maggie McLaurin.
