He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Allen Ayer and Myrtle Florine Sease Ayer; and his siblings, Stancil Ayer, Mary Helen Brandt, Lyles Ayer, Earl Ayer, Sonny Ayer, Jimmy Ayer, Bobby Ayer and Dot Lehew.
He is survived by: his wife Hilda Yvonne Reid Ayer; his children, Tim Ayer (Deborah) and Vonda Ayer Rentz (late Kevin); his great grandchildren, Christopher, James and Mason; his siblings, Sara Rauth, Robert Ayer, Richard Ayer (Shirley) and Carolyn Jennings; and his sisters-in-law, Laurette and Carol.
