He is survived by: his wife Jackie Childers; his daughter Freda Childers of Cullowhee; his grandson Colton Ray; his stepson Philip Swafford of Westminster, SC; his stepgrandsons, Landon, Andrew and Blake Swafford; his mother-in-law Connie Wilbanks; and his siblings, Janice Rathbone of Maggie Valley and Jimmy Childers (Laqueta) of Glenville Dennis. He is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
