He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Stroud and Ollie Pyatt Stroud; and his siblings, Bert, Bill, Charles and Fern.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Benton (Trey) of Salem, SC; and his grandchildren, Mitch and Brooks Benton of Alabama. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
